Method
- If using regular (non-Medjool) dates, soak them in warm water for 10–15 minutes to soften, then drain well.
- Add the pitted dates, ice cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender.
- Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until completely smooth — dates need a bit longer than other mix-ins to fully break down.
- Taste and adjust — add more dates for extra sweetness or more milk for a thinner consistency.
- Pour into a chilled glass, top with whipped cream and chopped dates, and serve immediately.
