Date Milkshake

Naturally sweet dates blended into a silky, caramel-like milkshake with no added sugar needed.

Ingredients
  

  • 8–10 soft Medjool dates, pitted (or 10–12 regular dates, soaked)
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (slightly softened)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (more for a thinner shake)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream and chopped dates, for serving (optional)

Method
 

  1. If using regular (non-Medjool) dates, soak them in warm water for 10–15 minutes to soften, then drain well.
  2. Add the pitted dates, ice cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender.
  3. Blend on high for 30–45 seconds until completely smooth — dates need a bit longer than other mix-ins to fully break down.
  4. Taste and adjust — add more dates for extra sweetness or more milk for a thinner consistency.
  5. Pour into a chilled glass, top with whipped cream and chopped dates, and serve immediately.
