Green Smoothie Milkshake

Spinach, frozen banana, and vanilla ice cream blend into a surprisingly delicious green shake that is equal parts treat and greens.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh spinach or kale, packed
  • 1 ripe banana, frozen (for thickness)
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (slightly softened)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (more for a thinner shake)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Method
 

  1. Rinse and pack your spinach or kale, removing any thick stems that could leave a fibrous texture.
  2. Add the greens, frozen banana, ice cream, milk, and salt to a blender.
  3. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until completely smooth; greens need a bit longer to fully break down than most mix-ins.
  4. Taste and adjust: add more milk for a thinner shake or more banana for extra sweetness.
  5. Pour into a chilled glass, top with whipped cream if desired, and serve immediately.
